Gentle Hatha Yoga at the Body Mind
Spirit Center places a priority on laughter and a light
atmosphere while learning basic as well as more
advanced poses. Students are encouraged to play with
the poses, to discover how each posture fits their own
bodies and abilities. A significant amount of class
time is dedicated to warming up for each session and
performing range-of-motion exercises to prepare the
body for the postures. Proper breath work is highlighted.
Priya Yoga

Hackney
$15 drop-in (single class)
$50 for classes
$75 for 4 weeks of unlimited classes
Priya yoga is a unique style of yoga
that provides the framework for deep exploration and
release of long-held tension and stress. The focus on
breath and grounding in each yoga asana allows muscles
to unwind and joints to open, freeing the body for a
joyful expression of flow and grace.
Nia
$15 for single class or 4 classes
for $50
Nia is
a movement practice that combines elements of dance,
martial arts and healing arts to provide total-body
cardiovascular conditioning. Martial arts such as tae
kwon do, tai chi and aikido bring in power and strength,
while jazz, modern dance and Duncan dance offer opportunities
for playfulness and personal expression. Aspects of
yoga, Alexander Technique and movement awareness foster
self-healing and personal growth. Blended together,
these different modalities create the unique practice
of Nia.
